Wrinkle Softening with Azzalure
FROWN LINE REDUCTION
By injecting very small amounts of a muscle relaxant into the
upper part of the face, furrows and lines can be greatly reduced and
even disappear.
Laughing, frowning and smiling are expressions we all perform
everyday. The
majority of us like to express our emotions and feel it is an
important part of our character. However, after time these lines
resemble a scar, they are noticeable when the face is at rest and are
not always a good indicator of how we are feeling i.e. the furrows
between our eyebrows make us look cross when we are actually feeling
happy. Studies have proved that alleviating these lines and wrinkles can
lift the spirit and enhance a feeling of well being.
FAQs
Q. Why do lines soften or disappear after these injections?
A. By blocking the impulses to the
tiny facial muscles the process of muscle contraction is stopped.
Q. What happens during
treatment?
A. Treatment always starts with a
consultation appointment. A full medical history is taken and it is then
decided if you will be suitable for treatment. Good communication
between client and practitioner before treatment is essential to
determine the degree of facial smoothness required. Photographs are
taken; the areas to be treated cleaned and marked using a cosmetic
pencil. If required a local anaesthetic cream can be used to ensure the
procedure is more comfortable. Small injections are then given. Before
the client leaves the clinic you are given a post-treatment advice
sheet.
Q. Do's and don'ts after, Treatment
A. No bending over or lying flat for 4
hours.
No rubbing the treated area for 48 hours.
No exercising for the rest of the day.
Do exercise the areas treated by making facial exercises for the
first hour after treatment.
Do call with any questions.

men and women seeking to hold back the years and refresh their looks
naturally by restoring youthful volume to the skin.
What is Restylane
Restylane is a clear gel made of a natural substance called
Hyaluronic Acid which is abundant in youthful skin but diminishes as we
age.
Whether you require the signs of ageing to be smoothed out, an
improvement to your profile, more sensuous lips or skin rejuvenation to
your face, chest or hands then Restylane is for you. By replacing
Hyaluronic Acid in these areas we are not only smoothing out the lines,
folds or wrinkles but also hydrating the skin and promoting a healthier
texture.
FAQ’s
Q. What happens during a consultation?
A. The consultation is just as
important as the treatment itself, it must not be rushed. Before any
documentation is completed it is very important to discuss together why
you have come to see me and where you feel you need treatment. I also
inform you of all the treatments available and those which would be most
beneficial to you.
After the consultation you must complete a medical history form
and a consent form, making sure you understand the documentation by
asking any questions you may have.
Comfort is a priority therefore anaesthetic cream is applied for
approximtely 15 minutes followed by before treatment photographs, which
are also repeated after the procedure. (Photographs are not taken if
you prefer not to).
The skin is then cleaned and the treatment performed, during the
procedure the area injected is gently massaged to ensure a smooth
result.
Q. How do I look and feel after treatment?
A. Immediately after treatment you
may be red and slightly swollen. You may bruise (more likely if you are
taking asprin or similar medication and some vitamins including omega 3
oils, vitamin E, garlic capsules etc. it is always advisable to stop
taking suppliments 2 weeks prior to treatment). You may feel a little
uncomfortable and the area injected a bit ‘tight’ and sore. Some
clients experience slight itching too. However these injected related
reactions are usually temporary and resolve within 10 days or less.
After lip treatment there may be slightly more swelling as this
area is more sensitive and the lips can appear slightly uneven, again
these are temporary reactions. If you are a coldsore sufferer it is
advisable to apply a topical non prescription anti –viral cream before
and after the treatment.
Q.
Are there special instructions I have to follow after treatment?
A. Yes, it is important to not touch
the area for 6 hours to prevent an infection. Cover up cream can only
be applied immediately treatment if a medical grade mineral makeup is
used which I can supply. It is advisable to not subject the areas
treated to the sun or extreme cold until post injection healing has
finished.
Q. How does Restylane work?
A. Restylane works by gently lifting
the tissue under the skin therefore replacing lost volume. The gel is
rich in hyaluronic acid (HA) a substance that binds water and hydrates
the skin.
Q. Is it safe?
A. Very. Restylane has been used
for over 10 years, more than 10 million treatments. The gel is of a
unique nature and is patented due to the HA gel being almost identical
to our own. The company that manufacture Restylane are continually
performing clinical tests as well as independant companies.
Q. Is there anyone who can’t be treated with Restylane?
A. Pregnant women or those breast
feeding should not have treatment. There is no reason why anyone with
other health problems should be excluded i.e. diabetics, autoimmune
disease etc, as long as you is well and your condition is stable,
however a full medical history is taken and the final decision is up to
the practitioner.
Q. Could I have an allergic reaction (hypersensitivity)?
A. Due to the HA being almost
identical to our own, It is quite unusual to have a reaction after
treatment with Restylane, reactions of this nature have been reported
in about 1:2000 treatments. The area may become swollen and tender and
sometimes spots forming at the injection site, the average duration of
these effects last about 2 weeks.
Q. Does it hurt?
A. Obviously everyone’s pain
threshold is different . Restylane products now have a local
anaesthetic in the gel, so the discomfort of the treatments have been
greatly reduced. As I inject the gel the local anaesthetic is numbing
the area. Slow injections using a special technique to ensure a maximum
comfortable procedure is always performed.
Q. How long will these treatments last?
A. Due to the extensive Restylane
range the longevity of the treatment is determined by the product used
and the area injected. On average the treatment ranges from 6 – 12
months.
Q. How much do the treatments cost?
A. Prices vary according to the type
of Restylane used, however prices start from £200.

Skin Rejuvenation with Chemical Peels
For more than 3000 years, women have been improving their
complexions by applying a range of substances to their skin, ranging
from sour milk to mustard poultices. Today, different acids are used to
remove the outer layers of the skin and improve its appearance.
FAQs
Q. What happens during a consultation?
A. The consultation is very
important. It is during this time you tell me what you would like to
improve regarding your skin. I take all factors into consideration such
as your skin type, lifestyle (important regarding any ‘down-time’ that
may incur) and whether I feel the treatment will give you the results
you expect. A full detailed medical history is also taken. It is not
usual for chemical peel treatment to be carried out at the first
consultation as skin preparation may be necessary.
Q. What chemical peels do you offer?
A. I use 2 types of chemical peels, a
very superficial peel (Easy Phytic) and a medium peel
(TCA). Both peels are a medical grade treatment and
cannot be applied by a Beauty Therapist due to the strength of the
properties in the solution.
Q. What is the difference between the 2 peels?
A. Easy Phytic solution
– this is a slow release peel, it is best indicated for acne, for the
prevention or treatment of photo ageing and hyper pigmentations. It
evens out the complexion. It is for those who do not want visible
flaking but want to achieve a tightening effect as well as a new
‘glow’. This peel is applied weekly until the desired effect is
reached; however it can be used as a ‘one off’ to give the skin a boost.
TCA - This is a stronger peel. It improves the
appearance of fine lines due to sun damage, reduces skin roughness,
evens out pigmentation, improves brilliance of the skin and reduces pore
size. There is usually visible flaking with this peel. The peel is
applied weekly for 4 weeks. During this time you are advised to use the
moisturising cream supplied and a factor 50 sunblock (also supplied).
You continue using these creams for a further 6 weeks.
Q. What happens during a treatment?
A. For each peel a detailed medical
history is taken, a consent form signed and time allowed for questions.
Neither peel requires skin preparation.
Easy Phytic Peel – The face is washed with
cleansing foam and dried. The peel solution is then applied. You may
experience a tingling sensation during the application which may be
repeated. Once the tingling sensation begins to fade a post peel cream
is applied and the treatment is completed. These peels are self
neutralising.
TCA - After washing the face with cleansing foam
two coats of peel solution is carefully applied. Your skin will feel a
sensation of warmth and a bearable stinging. After the application of
the TCA solution a post peel cream is applied to the face, this
neutralises the peel.
Q. How will I look after treatment and the next few days?
A. Easy Phytic –
Immediately after the peel you will look slightly red which will subside
over the next few hours. The following few days your skin will feel
slightly tighter and drier than normal and may flake very slightly. If
you are an acne sufferer you may experience a breakout of spots.
TCA – You will look red after the procedure which
subsides over the next few hours. Your skin will feel tighter and
drier than usual and will start to peel on the 3rd and 4th day. You can
carry on with normal activities as usual. It is worth considering when
to have the peel treatments knowing peeling takes place on day 3.
Q. Are there any dos and don’ts after treatment?
A. Easy Phytic – on
the day of treatment you must not wash wash your face. The next morning
your skin can be cleansed normally. It is advised to use the
moisturiser provided and the sun block must be applied at least daily as
your skin will be more susceptible to sun damage.
TCA – you must not wash your face until the next
day. You can then wash as normal though it is advised to not use a high
chemical cleanser. Use the moisturiser provided and at least daily
applications of the sun block. It is advised to not expose your face to
the sun during the course of treatment.
The course of TCA treatment lasts 10 weeks in all. The first 4
weeks you have weekly applications of the peel solution. The following 6
weeks you must continue to apply the creams supplied, refrain from sun
exposure, swimming must be avoided due to the chemicals in the water and
hair colour or the application of other face creams etc is not
recommended.
Q. Are there any exclusions from having these treatments?
A. Yes. Pregnancy and
breastfeeding, certain skin conditions such as rosacea, active herpes,
roaccutane treatment (within last 6 months), hyperpigmentation and other
skin conditions.
Prices
Easy phytic - £100 per peel (discount given if course of
more than 3 required)
TCA - £600 for course of 4.

about the treatment, what it entails, answer any questions you may have
and whether you would be a good candidate for this treatment.
If you decide to go ahead with a Dermaroller treatment a medical
history form is completed and a consent form signed.
Before the anaesthetic cream is applied photographs are taken (it
is your choice if you prefer not to have photographs taken). The cream
is thickly applied to the area requiring treatment for approximately 45

A. It can take up to 6 weeks to see
any results, the regeneration process continues over the following
months
Q.
How many treatments does a course entail?
A. For skin rejuvenation a course of 3
treatments are recommended with a minimum of 6 weeks between them. For

the skins overall appearance and texture.
Restylane SubQ FAQs
Q. When is SubQ used?
A. This product is used to restore
the signs of facial ageing by adding volume to enhance youthful
contours.
Adding volume to areas such as the cheeks addresses the ‘sagging’
effects of gravity and achieving a natural mid-face lift.
Q. How do I look and feel after treatment?
A. Immediately after treatment you
may experience swelling and a little tenderness, redness and bruising.
This is all normal and usually resolves in one to two weeks.
You must avoid pressure to the area and it is advisable to sleep
on your back the first night after treatment.
Excessive Sweating Treatment
This treatment is for you if your daily activities are hampered
by the embarrassment of excessive underarm sweating. This condition
changes the way you dress and prevents you from being relaxed at social
occasions or work. This is a treatment that really does change people's
lives and can last approximately 9 months to a year.
How does the treatment work?
This treatment helps control excessive underarm sweating by
temporarily blocking the chemical signals from the nerves that stimulate
the sweat glands. When the sweat glands don't receive the chemical
signals the sweating stops.
The treatment involves the client shaving their armpits the day
before treatment. A detailed medical health form is completed and your
suitability for treatment is assessed.
After applying the areas with a local anaesthetic cream which
takes approx. 30 minutes to work, the area is cleaned and an iodine
solution applied. The area is then dusted with cornflour. This causes a
reaction and a deep purple / black discolouration will appear
identifying the areas that require treating. After marking the area to
be treated the armpits are cleaned and small 'just under the skin'
injections are performed. There is a mild discomfort. The treatment
normally takes 30 mins maximum.
After treatment it is advised to keep the area dry for 4 hours,
do not apply anti perspirant as this may sting.
